This is my 3rd Blackhawk holster. I have tried many other types and brands and finally found something I am truly happy with particularly since I'm left handed. I have never liked top break straps. They always seem to get in the way either on the draw or re-holster. And if you've ever had a weapon fall out of a slip fit/tension holster it's just plain embarrassing. These holsters a slim and work well for concealed carry. Most of these holsters come with both belt and waist band insert paddle. They are not fancy but they work! To me a holster is not a fashion statement. Form and function out rule pretty. The trigger guard lock/release provides excellent security against loss from holster and is easy to operate. Re-holster is a no brainer "click" and its locked in. No strap or snaps to fumble with. Another feature is if they get dirty they are easy to clean. Simply dunk in warm water and wipe down. No more saddle soap and neat's-foot oil. With regards to weapon bluing wear, all I can say from 20 plus years of experience is that all holsters will eventually cause bluing wear to some degree whether leather, nylon or plastic. The lock mechanism and where my finger is is perfect, anyone who says this holster is dangerous is not holding there gun right, you draw by gripping the grip yo, drawing a pistol does not require your index finger, press the release with it and then keep it straight, if your curving your finger toward the trigger that is the humans fault, not the tool, learn proper trigger discipline people, when reviewing firearm equipment there should be a spot to put years of experience.
