The problem is the pole is weak, I guess so it will not damage the car, and bends over easy when the bumper touches it. It does not recover its position without help. I keep a empty cardboard box to hold it in place **Q: I received my partez with flashing led light today. the stick will not stand up straight once i put the stop sign on top.. help me to make it stand** A: I had the same issue. And when something makes contacts the pole it doesn’t flash and yes I removed the tab from the batteries. I could not make it stand straight up either. **Q: Is there some trick to getting the light to blink? I pulled out the plastic tab in the battery compartment and it blinked once then stopped.** A: There is no trick. I think some are defective. Mine only blinks occasionally. If I flick it with my finger then it blinks, but not when I hit it with my bumper. Also sometimes it will just start blinking on its own. I didn't return it because I can still tell when I have bumped it even if it doesn't blink. **Q: Can you set it off by touching it with your hands? I need signs to direct vehicles coming into a stop.** A: Yes. You can slap it or shake it and it will light up for a few seconds. However, you may get tired of doing that after a while if you're using it to direct vehicles. It takes a firm slap and the switch isn't very sensitive. I think that's why there are quite a few reviews stating that this product does not light up when touching it with a car. I have that problem, too. The weight of the stop sign causes the pole to lean. I solved that problem by removing one of the pieces of the pole -- the stop sign is still high enough that I can see it when I pull into the garage.
