Anyone know what the opto IC manufacturer and part number are?** A: The optos are labeled L217-A with a small lettering H39. **Q: Does it really need pwm signal to control it, or just any gpio signal would do? since it's just on or off, no need to dim the load.** A: Inputs are simple isolated optocouplers (just + and -). I am using with 5 volts (more or less) signals in my application. PWM inputs are an option that you yourself must generate. Output/input leds were activated with a 3 volt input during bench test. Of course input current increases with input voltage. [ I may have rated this circuit too high. Note that incorrect transistor mounting/pads/connections are used. Note also that this circuit is not back EMF protected for inductive loads.] **Q: Do you need a fuse between the device (say a motor) and the output of this board, or will the board handle any power issues?** A: You need inductive load protection if PWM'ing a motor. I suspect that heat will be the first load limit encountered. Don't believe the stated output current for any long duration of time.
