I took a chance and bought it. Having just received it, even without using it yet, I'm glad I did. It is exactly as advertised. It seems to fit very well in my shoulder bag, and still feels large enough for me jot down everything I want without feeling cramped.The faux leather is thick and of high quality. Soft but durable with even high quality stitching. The elastic that both binds it and keeps it closed is thick and strong enough not to give me any concerns. The covers both have fairly deep pockets which I know I will be using.The two winning qualities for me however are the unique style of the binding and the quality of the paper.The binding is unique from any other notebook I've ever owned. It's bound by the same type of elastic that holds it closed, and it's comprised of 3 separate paper inserts (think mini notebooks) which can be slid out and replaced with different inserts of whatever paper type you prefer. I think that's genius as it allows the notebook to be refilled without the need for punched paper, and different paper types can be substituted very easily. Even more importantly, and easily overlooked is that this type of binding leaves a lot of room inside the notebook for pictures, notes, or whatever scrap-booking type stuff you'd want to toss in. I often attach sketches, business cards, post it notes, and other material to the pages of my notebooks and the result is that they are quickly overloaded. That certainly won't happen with this one, and the fact that you're operating with multiple inserts naturally provides you with section dividers. I also really like that if lies flat when opened, which you usually don't get in ring or coil notebooks.In regards to the paper I did some initial testing. The blank white paper the notebook comes with is surprisingly good quality. It is of higher than average GSM. My pencil marks came away clean when erasing, and initial tests with a few pens and markers had considerably less bleeding then on my regular five-star notebook. I think this type of binding vs coiled provides more usable space on the page. It seems that with this binding type, the pages are also far less likely to tear.One thing that made me smile - I often use my notebooks, as many people do, as a compliment to using Evernote. For me personally, the fact that they are both branded with an elephant is an awesome match. I hope they come out with an Evernote green version in the future!Lastly, this product was delivered much more quickly than advertised. Getting stuff shipped out to me from the States to middle of nowhere British Columbia Canada usually ends up to a week and a half minimum shipping time. We got this faster than we normally get our Canada Amazon stuff in.
