Everything about the SmartRail says they are thoughtfully designed. They seem robust enough to support the specified weight and will survive typical weatherI mounted the rail on our Hotspings (2009 Grandee model) on the access door. The door material looked like it should have added wood support which I glued/screwed to the back side of the panel. At that point, the rail mount felt very secure screwed into the door. The rail should be fairly easy to remove by reversing the install of the two large hex bolts/nuts.Why did I drop a star? The shipping is awful. Look, I get it . . a cute triangular box . . hard to resist just shipping as is . . . because it's obviously hard to re-box. But, my first attempt with another company ended up being sent back by UPS to shipper, it fell apart. This new company tries the same gambit, and also almost loses. The box had popped open, but this delivery person managed to keep everything inside. Did packaging tape get too expensive? Are the shipping folks too busy with other task? Business is all about shipping this decade. Take it seriously. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice rail *by V***O on Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2016* Well made and very stable. My only suggestion is that for tubs that are recessed in a deck it could and should include cotter less hitch pins so that if rail is mounted on deck with handle over the tub as opposed to pictured over deck, you can easily swivel it down so that tub cover can close. See my pictures, which includes pins I purchased separately. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for my situation *by S***M on Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2020* I have had this for almost 2 months now and so far, I like it. It is light, but seems very sturdy. I mounted it to the deck surface (since my deck goes around the tub, not leaving room to mount to the side of the tub). Also, I rotated it 180 degrees so that the "P" faces the tub as it was a long way to reach the bar when standing near the middle of the tub (a situation for most hot tubs with steps). As a result, the bar is in the direct path of the tub cover, so I did not use the 3/8" bolts and replaced them with easy to remove pins instead. It works great. When not needed, the bar rests on the deck.
