Review: Great internal capture card, for live streaming game footage or Bridge/DSLR/HD camera footage. - This is a premium product for a very specific purpose. As such "value for money" isn't really relevant. But, if you want to capture up to 4K @60 FPS, from a games console, Bridge/DSLR camera, or intercept and/or pass through any HDMI display, this card is perfect. For PC build space consideration: this card's dimensions are roughly early iphone sized(in credit cards? 1x1 and a 3rd, with a depth of 10mm(yeah I know, I don't have enough credit cards for depth lol), minus PCI-E connector and rear PCI-IO plate. In other words, it's pretty small. The build quality reflects it's price, and at no point would I say the have cut costs. Aesthetically resembles the offspring of 2 SLI'd GPUs (when Mummy & Daddy GPU really love each other.....). It's looks even extend to it's stylish black PCB. Let's face it these are a currently a default purchase for any streamer/Youtuber, who wants to capture lossless footage: and that would be Elgato's target market. Well, its for any streamer that wants to do a little more than ASMR streams(ladies, fear not. It will do those too. Well, the "quality" camera side of your "content" at least). Are there higher-end capture cards? Sure, but A, what site can handle more than 4K @60fps bandwidth, and B, who's PC hardware can currently exceed that by more than a few dozen fps? C, if your hardware can support more then you are a pro, with an exceedingly specific purpose in mind and a high-end card would be better for you. It's software? It works-ish. But, I can't think of a single scenario where you would use a very basic "cut-and-splice" video editing program, when so many vastly superior free or cheap solutions exist. As to streaming, it's driver software(yep, still comes on a DVD, but can be DL'd from Elgato's site) makes it available to all newer versions of OBS or Streamlabs. I have hopefully answered some of the questions you may have, based on the the questions I had to research when I wanted to stream decent quality game footage, or connecting my Lumix FZ-2200 Bridge camera(FZ-2500 in the US) to OBS as a webcam. My verdict? The Elgato 4K60 Pro is a great piece of kit, so is the AVermedia "Live Gamer" equivalent. They're both PCI-E internal capture cards that will do the same job. The AVermedia has some RGB lighting(if you want to light your PSU shroud or slightly illuminate the bottom of your case for some reason), but for me, I much prefer the small sleek Elgato. I would highly recommend it. No, I'm not sponsored by Elgato, although.... if they're listening....
Review: Read this is you are getting a green screen - So I started off trying to get the 4K 60 S+ version of this but I ran into so many issues of them breaking that I decided to just install one inside my pc instead. It's very easy to install but let's just get one thing straight right now! Elgato have a strange and annoying habit of only using premium high speed HDMI cables! So this means that when I installed it all I got was a flickering green screen and I couldn't get my game on the screen at all. I was devastated and thought that my 4K capture card was broken but as I said before it needed the magical premium high speed cable to work. I connected the cable and was finally getting a clear picture but was still unable to get 2160p. This is another thing you need to know about Elgato, their 4K capture utility can't do 4K! But with the cable all I did was leave it on 1080p on the 4k capture utility and then switched on my OBS and turned that onto 2160p. This fixed the issues and finally was able to start recording in glorious 4k! Though do be aware that you can't record in HDR either. These issues aside the videos that are recorded with this card are stunning and you certainly will be rewarded for all your hard efforts if you ran into the same issues as me. With this card I finally had the quality videos that I wanted for my YouTube channel and if you're looking to do the same then I would highly recommend this card

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is it possible to play at 2k/4k 120fps, but record at 60fps? on my xbox x series.**
A: 2160p60 can't be transferred over USB from the Elgato Game Capture HD60 S+. The available USB 3.0 bandwidth doesn't allow for that much data to be transferred at once. If the video source is 2160p60, then it will passthrough as 2160p60, and capture as 1080p60.

If you have any more questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out via support on Elgato's website.

**Q: Does this work with an xbox too? and can i just connect to the line in or mic port of my pc and capture game chat on obs? thanks**
A: Yes this connects directly into your XBOX controller and can capture ingame chat.

**Q: Is the 4k60 pro compatible with asus rog strix Z390-E gaming motherboard?**
A: Hi yes you can use with
asus rog strix Z390-E gaming motherboard
Thank you

**Q: Will this capture the stream coming from my infomir mag 256 iptv streaming device, and record it to my laptop? i also have an android tv box.**
A: Yes, but you may need to get a splitter to put it between the set topbox and the Elgato just incase the top box blocks the signal.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It's good. Works with PS5 aswell
*by L***O on 20 May 2021*

This product is great for streamers and people looking to get great game shots on console and PC. Build Build quality is good. It's well made and looks cool. My only problems are theres no indication of whether its actually turned on, it would be nice if it had a little light on it or something to indicate its getting power. Also it's only HDMI, considering most high end GPU's nowadays use mainly display port, it's a bit of a pain to use up the only 1 hdmi slot on my gpu. It would be cool if you could sell official displayport adapters for it so those of us on pc can have life a little easier, I wouldnt even mind paying extra. Picture quality Its good overall. Great for recording videos on games and whatever else you do. Set up Now this is the downfall of this product. Plugging it in and securing it is easy. But using it in elgato software is horrible. I recommend you install the elgato software, let it install the drivers and everything and then download streamlabs or OBS because it's far easier to use. Value for money If you are a streamer or content creator then I'm sure youll get your use out of this and it will be well worth it. I think to make it fully worth the price elagto needs to do an update on the 4k capture utility. Overall, a pretty solid product. Good for recording ps5 and PC vids.
