Review: Excellent quality! The smell is amazing. - I usually buy vanilla beans/pods which are dried, in a jar, from the store, and pay an exorbitant amount for them. I looked on desertcart and when I saw organic (which doesn’t necessarily mean anything but I figured I’d give them a try) that helped to sway me. They smell AMAZING!!! They are soft so I am able to scrape out the seeds if so desired. This may not be what you want and you may need the pods/beans dry for a recipe but if you are looking for a quality product, suitable for homemade extract (strong potency), clean and moist, you have found it! I hope your order is as good as mine. I’m super happy with it. It came quickly only draw back? Packaged in plastic, I prefer anything but.

For my extract- I run a knife down the center of each bean pod. I do not extract the seeds. I add the 50 sliced bean pods to a 64 ounce mason jar, then 32 ounces of vodka and two 16 ounce bottles of vanilla extract. I find using the extract (it is a great price at Costco) makes the batch even more flavorful than just using vodka. I shake the jars once a day for the first two weeks, then let them sit in a cool dark cabinet for a full year. You can use it sooner, but the longer you wait, the better the flavor. So easy and so amazingly delicious!
