I find it to be consistent with the A1c readings when I use an application to record my blood glucose every day and convert the units. It also works with a small blood sample and holds a good amount of data. I use an app to record daily readings so I don't really need the glucometer to have much memory. One other small thing - you can partially push a test strip into the slot on the glucometer until you have your blood sample ready. The push the strip the rest of the way, wait for the screen to display it's ready for testing and go ahead. The price is right (insurance will not pay for it). This meter does not need to be calibrated. Also it displays glucose readings for a good amount of time to allow me to make a note of them on my computer. My last one of these lasted me 10 years although 2-3 years is recommended so I renewed it. I think enzymes in the meter start to dry up after 2-3 years. I will not be buying a different meter anytime soon. I get the strips from my insurance and I only measure once a day in AM (fasting).
