But no, I just plugged it in and it works. I got this because suddenly while using my desktop, the one I have, it was on that has a USB wire you plug into the desktop stopped working. My iPad worked so I ordered this. Then I went back on my desktop and troubleshot with the old one cause I wanted to get it working and...it did. But I still got this cause it was overnight and I might not have been able to cancel it. Backstory aside, I'm glad I got this, so now I have a new WiFi Adapter and there's far less cables I need to deal with. There's been no lag. Or signal drop. It works as well as the old one. I can't tell if it's faster, but it isn't slower. My desktop is Windows 10. And it worked right out of the box.
