We bought an old wool blanket from a military surplus store and is wreaked of mothballs, something we only notices when we brought it home. Not knowing much about how rampant the odor could be we put it in the washing machine to try and wash the odor out. BIG mistake. The odor actually contaminated the machine and the laundry room and pretty much anything we would clean with the machine. We had to use vinegar to wash out the machine but the odor still lingered in the laundry room. When our pouches arrived it only took one or two days with the pouch in the room and the odor was completely gone! That thing is a incredibly effective. Would recommend it to anyone who had a mothball odor in a room that just wont go away even after venting the room for many days.
