Upon finishing the job and listening to the radio for the first time man did it whine when driving. The alternator interference was very bad. The original radio did not do this and I used a plug n play wire harness so I assumed the issue was with the inexpensive radio. Enter this noise filter. I hooked it up (took less then 30 minutes) started the car and was I impressed. No more alternator whine or noise in the radio at all! I cannot say this will work for all such issues, or that you will have the same success that I did, but for me it was perfect! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Got rid of my alternator whine. You may want to also add a ferrite core magnet. *by D***O on August 16, 2019* I spent two weeks eliminating the possibility of a ground loop in my system when I decided to look at the power line for the stereo and DSP. I noticed that when I did a test by added a ferrite core magnet to the power line, it reduced the alternator whine. When I installed this noise filter (30 Amps to match the minimum 15 Amp fuse of the DSP), it virtually eliminated the noise. Clamping a ferrite core magnet on the yellow wire made the remaining noise vanish. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Red wire is too small *by J***K on November 23, 2020* This item was wired correctly. I found it to be effective. But a year later, my car (2018 Nissan Versa) suddenly began to loose power until it went into what the manufacturer ( of the Nissan Versa) called "limp Mode". It's an autonomic speed control function that slows the car down dramatically. It indicated something Is wrong with the electrical or engine/transmission operational. I thought it was the battery when the car's battery died. I bought a battery and went on my way until it happened again, then again --- with a brand new Die-Hard Gold Performance battery ($209), and only after a week, it died again. I had to have it towed to a Nissan Dealer. They discovered it was the Noise Filter hooked up to the alternator. The red wire supplied with the Noise suppressor had nearly burned up and caught fire. It had even come loose from the unit. The service fee was $143.78 all due to 30 amp noise suppressor called " Installbay - IBNF 30, High Power 30 amp Noise Filter. The Nissan technician explained to me this: that is why the car had gone into 'Limp Mode' because the red wire was to small in gauge to handle the voltage from the alternator. It cost me more than it's worth, and as much trouble as anything. Bigger gauge wire, say something the size of a batter cable is what it needs. I spent money on a battery I didn't need, a tow, and a service charge plus motoring the car on a 4 lane road at 16 mph. It's ashamed the company doesn't offer a return, or at the least, invest in redesigning the wire gauge necessary.
