We told him he couldn't take it to school until we found a suitable carrying protective case. This case is fantastic. My son loves it because it is easy to transport and protect his computer. He can throw it over his shoulder across his body and go or use the handles and carry it like a briefcase to class. It is well padded and looks very sharp. The back pocket is flat at 10"x7-1/2". The front pocket sticks out slightly and is 10"x7" and holds the charger and a SuperDrive easily. Inner pockets in this front pocket are 2-1/2" wide by 4" tall (holds an iPhone 5S perfectly but not an iPhone 6) and a double 3" wide by 2" tall pocket for something like business cards. The only suggestion for improvement I would have is to make this second pocket deeper so it would hold an iPhone 6.
