We've got the return of the truly great Star Wars characters like Lando, Wedge, and Booster - an absence this series has really suffered for. We've got the events of the book taking place on amazing locations like the Errant Venture and Ziost. And we've got the book's climax being a massive lightsaber fight between most of the lightsaber-weilding characters! What more could you ask? My only complaint in this book is that not a lot is accomplished, other than seeing Correlia's forces expanding and Ben doing some serious soul-searching; characters and events are basically in the same state at the end as they were at the beginning. Still, for the pure fun-factor, I really thoroughly enjoyed the act of reading this book - and that's why it's great to read in a galaxy far, far away. So many other sub-plots made the story lose its way. There are characters involved who don't need to be a part of this series, so far as I can see. Maybe it becomes important later. Alema, for one. She is a comic representation of evil. Still trying to kill Han for why? The Balance -- the whole reason behind her evilness. I think I somehow lost how this was all part of Sith lore, but I thought the Balance was something Gaeriel believed in, and it had nothing to do with the Dark side. Where did Alema ever learn it? Revenge is one thing, but Balance? There are plot points that make no sense. Jacen sneaks into a convention under disguise. No one recognizes him. Okay. Suddenly he speaks up, and the whole place knows who he is . . . still in disguise. Hmmm. "Exile" wasn't a complete loss. The story moves the series along. It could have been great. It was just okay. 3½ stars. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Read and follow up to Tempest *by P***0 on January 22, 2008* I just finished EXILE and it was GREAT... The interaction between the characters was the same as in the movies. The way it moved to the climax of the book, was at times slow and others to fast, but it was a good read over all. I still do not like the references to the Dark Nest Trilogy, I did not read it so I kept getting lost in translation, the same way I did in Tempest. The cliffhanger was awesome, eventhough I already knew who the sacrifice would be. If you read carefully and knowing who the sacrifice would be, the book gives you hints of the identity.
