The hat and veil are very well made, and with the heavy straw hat, thick elastic neck band and the under-arm straps you can be confident that you will not get stung. (I have another veil that the bees can sting through especially when the fabric is wet with sweat.) Upon receipt of the gloves and veil, I went into my apiary for four hours harvesting honey on a 90+ F day. Predictably the bees were not too happy and a bit agressive, ocassionally stinging through my jeans, but no stings above my neck or in my hands. There were a lot of stingers left in my gloves, but none got through the labskin. The gloves are of good quality as well. The gloves are marked "Large" and will fit a large hand like mine, but with no room to spare, which is OK because the tight fit offers more dexterity. If you normally wear an extra-large glove (as I do), it is possible that these gloves could be too small for you. But I sewed the rip up & I’m happy with both items. The gloves are very soft goatskin and fit perfectly.
