The switch is included too. *by R***R on June 2, 2025* As you can see in the photos, my electric lines running into a couple of my closets are the thick, braided cords. These had very old outlets on them. The sides were left exposed on the old ones and a cover plate I placed on one left sharp edges. These outlets worked exactly as I hoped they would. One end (or one side) has "tear-out" tabs that facilitate thinner to thicker lines/wires running into the switch. The switch comes with the package too. I'm no handyman, but this was simple enough for me. The instructions are pretty clear.
