Installation was simple. I just had to enlarge the original tachometer opening by about 1/16 of an inch. It seems fairly accurate but I only have a mini tach to check it against. It does have an accuracy adjustment, so it can be fine tuned if you have a good reference tach. The tach looks good and works well. I would definitely buy it again. This tach is made for marine use and works well and is accurate on my older Mercury outboard. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked perfectly *by S***N on June 23, 2024* Used on my 1975 Evinrude 85hp model 85593e. So as you can see it’s an 8 pole BUT in doing research apparently this motor gets set based off pulses and not by poles? I found out it emits 12 pulses so divided by 2 you get the 6p setting.
