Review: The Perfect Butter Dish - Perfect butter dish! The lip around the base makes it easy to pick up and move securely—I don't know why so many butter dishes get this wrong. The lid lifts off cleanly, and the dish is both pretty and generously sized, easily fitting Kerrygold butter sticks. Best of all, the butter sits slightly lower in the base than the lid, so the lid never presses into or cuts the butter like it does with some other dishes (see photo - I'm pointing to what I mean). The only downside is that it’s slightly off-white. I originally bought it to match my pure white dishes and bakeware. That said, it’s absolutely worth it. After trying several butter dishes, I didn’t realize how hard it was to find the perfect one—and the subtle off-white color ended up being a non-issue.

Perfect size for those large blocks of butters from Ireland and New Zealand. No more risky impractical cutting them in half to fit the skinny butter plates. The lid fits properly, so no clanging or shaking when it gets passed around the table. It came in perfect condition as the company had it packed safely and securely. That made it worth the price, which was reasonable, anyway. It is heavy enough to keep the butter cool from the fridge through a meal, yet light enough to easily move.I highly recommend it.
