Do pay attention to the information in the photos that says there is 3/8" of threading on each end. I really don't know the reason for this but they are tapped from each side rather than being tapped all the way through from one side like most of these are. Used for a motherboard you'll probably only want 1/4" or shorter mounting screws for the top side, but on the bottom side you'll need to calculate your screw length carefully so you don't run out of thread. I don't know if you could run a tap through one side to extend the usable thread length...they meet in the middle and there's no guarantee that if you advanced a tap that the threads on the other side would meet in the right place, meaning that you could totally booger up the other threads and still not gain depth on that one side. Also, these are a smaller 1/4" diameter hex (across the flats) which is perfect for motherboards. Similar through-hole standoffs that you might find at the hardware store are usually a slightly larger 5/16" diameter which may cause fitment issues on some motherboards.
