A: I it has a battery

**Q: Does it activate automatically when a man is overboard?**
A: It’s set up as a distance away from the source. I linked mine to my iPad and it has my charts on it. It works great.

**Q: What does the olas connect to, your phone or your plb?  thank you!**
A: I connect the Olas to a Samsung A30 phone.  It works well but sometimes you get a false alarm.  This must depend on the Bluetooth signal, distance and other device interference on the yacht.
