Perhaps I should have purchased a condenser or electret mic. I need to have my mouth practically on the mic to hear my voice thru the sound board. The construction is beefy which I like, but it's lacking as the base is too easily unscrewed. When I turn up the level on the input of my soundboard into which the mic is plugged, I hear a noticeable hum.
