It does have a couple of holed tabs for a small padlock or carabiner clip that would keep the lid closed and prevent the contents from falling out when the latches fail. I ended up putting a 4' cinch strap around the case to insure that it won't pop open when transporting or carrying. I am sure the latches will break off sooner or later and I will have to bolt on a more secure type of latch. If it had more robust latches, I would have rated it 4 or 5 stars, but 3 is all I can give it with the flimsy latches it comes with. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars A nice case! *by I***N on Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2015* Was as solidly made as I hoped, strong, not the cheap stuff sometimes seen, but a good quality, durable plastic. Outside surface is regular, no defects or extra plastic, looks nice. Interior size was as advertised (I needed every bit for my application). The back is a real hinge, well made. The front snaps will hopefully not break for a long time (they aren't hinged, but flexible plastic). Has a hole for adding a small padlock if you want, but lets face it, these are meant to be carried so a thief can just walk off with the entire thing. After a week of use I can say I would definitely buy again. The carrying handle is fabricated of what appears to be polystyrene plastic which can become easily fractured in abusive environments and it's not of an ergonomic design. I've owned sturdier similar cases in the past that usually came with my various mechanical instruments and/or devices. Fortunately, I'm only using this case to protect a lightweight Donegan OptiVisor Headband Magnifier which will not experience any field use. The size is a great fit for my purpose.
