so far, so good. the low setting isn't actually above the highest temperature that your pet should be laying on (if the packaging is accurate about what temperature it reaches at each setting), so I put two layers of a fleece blanket over the top and that worked perfectly to get the temperature down where I needed it. I really liked this product. We used it to help warm our baby squirrels' nest while rehabbing them. It worked perfectly. Would definitely recommend this heating pad if you are looking for one with no shut off. It was a great price and ver comparable. The low warmth setting was just right for what we needed.
