It can be categorized under lamellophones, which is in the category of plucked idiophones. It consists of a metal ring in the shape of a horseshoe with two parallel forks which form the frame, and a metal tongue in the middle, between the forks, fixed to the ring at one end and free to vibrate at the other. The metal tongue is bent at the free end in a plane perpendicular to the circular ring so that it can be struck and is made to vibrate. This bent part is called the trigger. Morsing (Jaw Harp) Its origin in India is not very clear though many myths and stories prevail. In India it is found mainly in South India, Rajasthan and also in some parts of Assam. In South India, it features in Carnatic concerts and percussion ensembles. In Rajasthan it is called morchang and is used as percussion instrument in folk music. ## Features - "Morchang" - quantity - 2, Iron Standard quality - Folk musical instrument of Rajasthan - also known as Mukhchang, Jawharp, Jewsharp - mouth harp ## Product Details - **Color:** black, silver - **Brand:** DakshCraft - **Instrument Key:** A - **Material:** Iron, Metal - **Style:** Modern ## Images ![Morchang, Jawharp, Iron, Mukhchang, Jewsharp, 2 Pieces, Folk, Rajasthan, Mouth Harp - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61O0egI5YsL.jpg) ![Morchang, Jawharp, Iron, Mukhchang, Jewsharp, 2 Pieces, Folk, Rajasthan, Mouth Harp - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91Ki1ApfeAL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐ Not for actual playing. Too expensive. Strictly novelty pieces *by J***E on January 28, 2020* Firstly they took longer than a month to get to me.The packaging was phenomenal some of the best I’ve seen. For novelty sake these jaw harps are fine but for actual playing there is a lot to be desired: they sound comparable to a “snoopy” jawharp for 40$ save your money. Stick with European jaw harp makers like glazrin. The Glazrin “wave” was my first “real” jawharp and it was 18$ and came in 2 days. These harps also have 0 finish so they feel awful against the teeth. Again DO NOT BUY! Will post videos ASAP ### ⭐ Its a piece of art but cannot be played *by S***Y on January 21, 2024* These are not musical instruments, badly crafted pieces of iron. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/15281051-morchang-jawharp-iron-mukhchang-jewsharp-2-pieces-folk-rajasthan-mouth](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/15281051-morchang-jawharp-iron-mukhchang-jewsharp-2-pieces-folk-rajasthan-mouth) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-03*
