Or it is only clamp mount ?** A: There is no provision for wall mounting. If you were to remove both clamp jaws you would be left with the padded holder piece alone, which has only a small square-headed peg intended to fit into the clamp and which would be tricky to use any other way without very exact fitting. If you want to attach this holder on a wall I would recommend mounting a small shelf to the wall and clamping the holder to it. **Q: Is it metal?** A: No. It is hard plastic with two soft ribs across top to keep head set in place. The only metal is the screw used to tighten the holder to that ever you secure it to. Fits vertical or horizontal planes. **Q: Why is this so expensive? I clicked on a link that said this was $20 a while ago.** A: Sennheiser no longer sells this item and it is in very short supply. Overall great product! ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Hook is well made, but clamp is not good for vertical use *by K***D on Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2013* I've used this holder with my Sennheiser HD 280 Pro headphones for two years; it does its job well, and the padding has held up.However, I would note that even though the clamp is rotatable to fit a vertical post, it is not well suited for such use. The stationary jaw has a rubber pad but the moving jaw is smooth plastic, which means that only one side of the clamp is exerting the holding friction; the rubber pad is subject to slipping over time (it is only glued in and with a small plastic rim); and the frame of the clamp itself is not all that rigid, which could eventually lead to the rubber pad not doing any good at all due to the right angle corner relaxing.Therefore, I would not recommend using this holder if you intend to clamp it to a vertical object AND it is going to be subject to rough use.
