Foreword: This product will fit all Suzuki fuel injected (FI) motorcycles which have on-board Diagnostic System connector. This connector is referred as ?Mode select switch coupler? in the Suzuki manuals.  Unlike other gear indicators available for your bike, this product connects to the diagnostic connector. It makes the installation very simple. The unit reads data directly from the ECM, offering faster and more reliable readings than competitive products.  The unit is fully automatic, there are no buttons and no ?programming wire?.  The display will indicate all gears correctly when ignition is On, side stand is UP and the engine stop switch is in RUN position.  Known limitation: This product will not work if there is a TRE device installed on the motorcycle, or the Gear Position Switch of the bike is faulty or modified.  Note: For the convenience of installation, we did not connect the connector to the plastic connector when it was shipped.  Installation: 1. Find the WHITE, 6-pole male diagnostic connector, usually near the ECM box. 2. It may have a black cap, or ?dummy? female plug (without wires) attached to it.   GSF650 Bandit / GSF1250:   under right side frame cover   DL650 ABS model:   behind right side fuel tank cover   VL1500 / Boulevard C90 / Intruder C1500:   behind left frame head cover   Other models:   under seat (rider or pillion) 3. Remove the black cap or dummy female plug, and connect the GFYSHIP plug. 4. Route the cable to the mounting location.
