Great - I needed a wood tray that was stained/painted black. There is visibly a wood grain on the serving top. All that said for the price of over $25 dollars . . . I expected a tray that was constructed using more than a sheet of veener. This makes the tray exceptionally light in weight and composition - Which I fear will not allow the tray to hold-up to any weight placed upon it. The apparent one application layer of staining/painting is not sufficient because the entire inside rim reveals the lighter wood beneath. This is not a quality piece. For my money more care could have been taken in its construction.
