We just got them so cannot actually attest to durability (so far, great) but Corelle is famous for its durability and I do remember that being true of my grandmother's dishes years ago. Time will have to tell for that. The only possible concern I would mention for a prospective buyer is that the appetizer plates are a bit smaller than expected--almost like a teacup saucer--so if you want something a bit bigger you might want to get the salad plates instead--but the appetizer ones have a cuter design.
