I melted a few of them in the action of soldering before I realized the bottoms are plastic and they melt very easily, so you can't solder them. I then tryed wrapping the wire around them but found that they seemed very unreliable. Perhaps when you bend the contacts, it also bends the inside and thus stops them from working correctly.
