The whole reason silicone baking mats have become popular is that that’s exactly what they’re for! You can prep on them and then put them straight in the oven - on a metal tray or straight onto shelf, I’ve done both. They save on the old throwaway greaseproof paper etc, and release foods much more easily. This particular mats specs say it’s safe up to the temperature specified in the item description. I suspect they’re covering their backs and it will be ok at rather higher temperatures, but I suppose we do that at our own risk. **Q: Is this good for rolling fondant icing , that’s all I need it for ?** A: I like mine I make lots of tasty baking. I do my bread flour in it I do find it does stick like glue so need extra flour. But with fondant this would be softer wouldnt it I think it would be fine with that just bit mess if you have lots of flour and water like bread making easy to wash up, and clean so I love my one. Easy to store away as well ;) **Q: Do u get the rolling pin also** A: No I did not get a rolling pin. I bought the advertised single pastry mat. But subsequently bought a stainless steel rolling pin. I find wooden rolling pins attract mould over time. I couldn’t afford a marble rolling pin which is best.
