Big aid in providing comfort for injured spinal condition. *by M***E on Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2014* My significant other has a damaged spine from breaking his neck and a botched disk surgery. He has also developed bone spurs on his spine. Needless to say, daily pain management is a way of life for him. We have Wondergel seat cushions for riding in the car and other uncomfortable seating situations. The seat cushions have been great, so I took a chance on this lumbar pillow and gave it to my guy. He says that it's been beneficial beyond all expectations. He uses it primarily as a lumbar support while lying in bed. It has made a huge difference in his comfort level. It supports without causing the discomfort of 'pressing back' on the body like too firm of surfaces can do. He says that it warms without being too much heat. He's very sensitive to being too warm, so something that can provide some warmth from retained body heat without feeling too hot is a real bonus. It's been such a great item that we're going to get another one for use behind his neck too. The people giving negative reviews hate it because it's floppy and doesn't just sit up in place like light weight foam. That's because gel anything is floppy and heavy. That's what makes it soft. Just affix it with a bungy cord and take 5 minutes to sew a pretty fabric cover that matches your furniture, and it looks great and stays in place. It looks better than the ugly black strapped contraptions I've bought In the past.It does not create pressure points or get pressed out of shape like other supports. I instantly felt more blood flow to my legs over the memory foam/pillow options, due to its soft, even support. You don't realize how much of a difference that makes, until you have it! I will never own another type of lumbar support.I have crippling arthritis with spinal degeneration. I'm 400 pounds, being stuck in a pillow covered chair all day. This support is worth every penny, and the extra blood flow helped with pain and swelling in my legs. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very comfy! *by C***E on Reviewed in the United States on June 7, 2016* I have only had this for about a week but it is incredibly comfortable and I am very happy with it.I seriously doubt that there is a more comfortable lumbar cushion out there. The crisscross gel feels AMAZING.So why only 4 stars? This gel pad only comes with a black fabric cover and nothing to attach it to a chair. There are loops sewn into the back of the fabric cover so that you could insert a velcro strap if desired. However the cover is made of a very lightweight fabric so that when I put my fingers through the loops the gel (which is heavy) sags away from my hands because the fabric of the cover is so thin and insubstantial.I am going to order some velcro to strap this to my chair but I can already tell that this pad is going to sag in my chair. How badly it will do so is yet to be determined.Do I care? Not that much. Even if the velcro doesn't work out for me I am willing to put this in place by hand each time I sit down because it feels THAT GOOD.I am going to guess that manufacturers of lumbar pillows made of other materials are going to have an easier time of making something that would secure in place with a strap because the weight of the pillow is not that big of a deal.If the manufacturer of this pillow made a cover that had a stiffer fabric to hold it up better I am guessing it would take away from the amazing feel of this pillow.
