However, it neither wakes or puts my book to sleep when it opens or closes. It came with that distinctive cheap plastic smell, but it goes away after about 3 weeks. The kick stand does close flush, unlike another review said. You just have to make sure the tether is folded upward, which is the way it wants to lay, instead of allowing it to hanging downward. The kickstand does seem thin, but the tether keeps it stable and it works well. I plan on trying other more expensive cases, but this one is perfect to see if you like the concept or not. ### ⭐ Buyer Beware! Cheap cover, poor vendor support *by J***N on Reviewed in the United States on September 9, 2019* Buyer Beware! This cover looks nice, but is poorly made and needs feature improvements to work well. The vendor is not Amazon and will blackmail you if you ask to return it. They told me that they would only refund my money if I first write a positive review and then ship them back to China. Amazon needs to protect us from these vendors. Here are the two issues: the cover hinge is not sturdy enough to hold the kindle without sagging and the cover does not hold itself open. If you put your hand on the strap and sit or lay down the kiundle will swing open on the hinge and make it difficult to read, if it doesn't hit you in the face! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Super cute Kindle Paperwhite cover! *by H***N on Reviewed in the United States on July 23, 2021* This sparkly rose gold Kindle case is cute and fits my Kindle Paperwhite perfectly. It adds very little weight to the Kindle and the sleep mode works as it should. The only design tweak I would make is to put the hand strap closer to the spine edge so that my small hand could actually fit inside the strap. The strap is centered on the inside of the cover and you need very long fingers to slip into the strap.
