Thanks!** A: Sorry...no it isn't. I just tried the magnet test and the magnet did not stick to it. **Q: When do you put the cover on? At beginning of cooking or after it is done?** A: I put it on while cooking to keep the heat in and get it to boil faster. Then I use it to poor the water out to drain. **Q: Does this have a disc on the bottom, or is it sealed all the way around the pot ("triclad")? Thanks!** A: It does have a disc on the bottom of the pot with their brand name on it, but it does appear to Be completely sealed. I don't believe this is an issue and it really is a great pot. The first two we owned were purchased in ignorance of how amazing they were and lasted over 10 years. It was a shock to see the current price but researching the alternatives led to choosing the same pot again. We love the all black finish and of course it works beautifully like the previous ones.
