Review: Stylish Commuter Bag, Professional, Quality - I spent a long time researching for a new commuter bag after my last backpack I purchased on desertcart fell apart after a few months. I live in Chicago and ride the train to and from work. I needed something that could hold my umbrella and coffee tumblr, and my laptop and book(s) when needed. The storage on this thing is fantastic. Little pockets for a granola bar, tissues and sanitizer. It easily fits a small to large laptop and dongles. Everything from my glasses to notebooks and pens have their own spot, with still more pockets for whatever random thing you need to travel with. This is a great travel bag for a business trip, and if you wanted to stole away a change of clothes for the gym, it'll store it without having to double up on a separate bag. The stitching is quality, which is something I never had to worry about until I've had several bag shoulder straps tear off. The canvas is durable enough to get through a rain storm. A: I think it would fit.   It holds a 17" Acer laptop.

**Q: Could the 17 inch one hold a 3 ring binder that is probably 10-12" wide, along with a couple notebooks and a clipboard?**
A: Yes the storage area inside the bag is quite flexible. My bag accommodates a 3-ring binder, a couple of music books and a pair of shoes.

**Q: How wide is the shoulder strap?**
A: The strap itself is 2.0" HOWEVER, the shoulder strap pad is 3.25". Very comfortable.

I spent a long time researching for a new commuter bag after my last backpack I purchased on Amazon fell apart after a few months. I live in Chicago and ride the train to and from work. When we go to things like trade shows and fairs, I liked to carry a messenger bag with me to carry water bottles, snacks and in case I purchase anything. My old bag lasted me 30+ years, and it truly had seen much better days. I ordered this bag as the replacement, and I am very impressed by the quality of the merchandise! Thick, canvas bag. The zippers are rugged, the strap is beefy, plenty of storage. I already have my pen, paper, umbrella and bottle of sunblock in place! Looking forward to taking it on our next trip!
