He is 5 years old and is still trying to learn how to tie. Because I drop him off for class, I am not there to tie his shoes when he needs to change halfway through class (he doesn't do tap the entire time) and thought these laces would be the perfect solution. I got the smallest size available, but they are still very long for his little shoes (he has small feet--size 10 Toddler). I didn't want to cut them off because then I would lose the plastic ends and was concerned the cut part would fray. I tried tying the laces in a bow, but they are stiff and slippery, so that didn't work out too well. It was the best I could do and is what we're using right now, but it's frustrating to have to keep tying the laces every few days when I was hoping I would only have to do that once and be able to have them stay in place.
