It's not tremendously large, so if you're big boned, you may not fit. For me, I had to pull out 4 links though. So that's an extra 1.25" or so that I took out. i'm an average sized guy so that gives an idea. The item comes with a tool to help remove the links. It was awesome! I could use it for other things like watches. It worked very easy.As far as the health purpose of the item, it's too early to say. The magnets and other items are fairly small. They are painted different colors.
