Review: Much better than the old valves that came with my house from the 1990s. - These work like a charm. My house has three toilets. I didn't know you had to change the parts. Anyway, one day, get a water bill that is 100% higher than normal. So I suspected the toilets were leaking only because I watched a video on youtube. There are lots of videos out there to help you understand what you need to change these valves. All you have to remember is to shut off the water supply, verify it is off by turning on a faucet nearest to that valve. Have the new valve ready to go in....because even with the water shut off, there will still be water in that line, not under pressure, but have a big towel on the floor, two crescent wrenches. One to stop the valve from turning, and the other to loosen the nut holding the valve. It takes a little bit of torque to break that nut free, but then it should turn by hand. The new valves are so nice and easy, the connection to the toilet is very easy. The first valve took me about 15 mins to change, I was nervous. The last (third one) about 7 mins. It helps to have some one by the valve after you replace it. Don't turn on the valve, leave it off....and slowly turn on the water main. If it leaks, then you know you have a problem, I never did. If it doesn't leak, then turn on the water main full pressure, wait a minute, look for drops anywhere. No leak, then make sure the valve line to the toilet is connected and secure....(should do that first by they way, before you start your leak check!) and then you can slowly turn the valve on and monitor for any leaks. The nut that holds the valve has to be pretty tight. So make sure you use counter-torque with an opposing wrench to prevent the valve from twisting while you tighten the nut. Its really easy. I am really happy with these valves.

**Q: Anyone have a noisy valve issue? This new valve is super noisy. No issues/noise when i reinstall my old valve.**
A: The noise and vibration going through the water pipes in my home when I was flushing my master bathroom toilet was tremendously loud and frustrating. I installed this kit along with a fluidmaster flush valve, and everything has been nice and quiet ever since. But if you're old plumbing is quiet and I assume working properly, why replacing it? If it ain't broke don't fix it lol.

**Q: Can this connect directly to 3/8 PVC without primer/cement?**
A: no way; put a pex fitting on the pvc and then connect.

**Q: Can it connect to pex ?**
A: no

**Q: On the inlet side is this compatible with 1/2" FIP?**
A: The inlet side of the shut-off valve fits 1/2" NOM copper pipe. The supply line has 3/8" COMP end that goes on the outlet side of the included shut-off valve and 7/8" ballcock end for the toilet connection inlet.
