It is true that it's not compatible with all motherboards, but it is compatible with motherboards with a MIO-892 supported slot. As long as your mother board has a MIO-892 supported slot, this card will work for you. This time around the item worked perfectly with my workstation/server using an Asus Server motherboard. This card has a PCI-E x1 form factor but it will only work with select Asus motherboards aimed at the server/workstation market. The PCI-E slot must be MIO-Audio enabled for the sound card to work. Check your motherboard manual if this card is compatible before you purchase it or you will waste your time.
