## Questions & Answers

**Q: regular bags?**
A: yes! their website even tells you this can convert to a trash can once the child is done with diapers. I'm using it as a litter pail and use tall kitchen garbage bags in it. Works great!

**Q: Is it exclusively for disposable diapers or does it work cloth diapers work too?**
A: You probably could use it for cloth diapers but it would depend on how large your diapers are as the opening on top is quite small. If your diapers were larger, I also imagine that the bag would fill up quite quickly as the bag inside isn't too large. We use a combo of cloth diapers and disposables and use the Diaper Dekor for disposing of used wipes/disposable diapers and then use another container for the cloth diapers.

**Q: Are you happy with the size, or wish you had gone with the Plus (bigger size)?**
A: I think this size is perfect. It forces you to change the bag out every few days (3-5 days) there for preventing odors. I don’t think the bigger one is necessary for 1 baby.

**Q: When you open this with the foot pedal, does the inner flap open as well or do you have to use your hand/the diaper to push it open?**
A: The inner flap does not open but the weight of the diaper allows you to not have to use your hand to open it, the diaper just falls right in.....unless it's super light!

Bigger than I was expecting and I like the design. I didn't know the liner was scented so I have to find some that aren't because I hate fake smells. I thought maybe the whole thing had been sprayed so I washed the outside and wiped it down with a lavender essential oil but I could still smell that gross powder smell. So if I can smell that inside the trash I am sure I will smell the diapers. The design is nice, when it's full you pull the bag out and it has a cutter on the door and then you tie off the end of the bag instead of changing it like a regular trash. I looked into a lot of diaper pails from 30-80 dollar range and they all have pretty much the same pros and cons so I figured I'd go with the cheaper option that is still a good design. What is even the point of scented bags? Nothing will make the odor of a diaper smell better and when you put fake smells in the mix it's usually much worse. That's my fault because I didn't read the part where it stated they were scented. It's not totally hands free because while it has a foot pedal to open the lid, there is a little knob that you turn to unlock the hatch and then you shove the diaper in that way. You can leave the knob in unlock position, but I think it may be a bit more air tight if you leave it locked between uses. It's not a big deal though. Overall I like it.Edit:Still want unscented bags but this definitely keeps the smells in. When you live in a small apartment and you can leave for the day and come back and not smell poop then it's working. Holds A LOT

This contains the odor when you use the special bag insert. Easy to use. A little expensive but worth it to have no embarrassing odors floating thru your home.

I'm so glad I got this thing. I was a bit suspicious of how low the price was on this, but I went ahead and this has been great to have.I've been dealing with dirty diapers for 3 years. I've burned through 3 official "diaper genie" brand diaper genies in that time. The regular diaper genie is great for keeping the smell out when throwing away another diaper, but they've got too many moving parts that depend on small plastic pegs and posts, and eventually they jam too hard, wear out, get loose, and break. They're awkward to empty, change, and refill, and again, they jam CONSTANTLY.This thing is a little smaller, sure, but it is so much SIMPLER. It's just an outer lid with a trapdoor beneath, and a simple little cabinet door for emptying the bag. It has huge advantages over regular diaper genie models.-simpler design w less moving parts-more reliable operation-easier to empty-doesn't jam (meaning less need to shove your hand in to clear it)-wider bag gives more storage than you'd expectThe only disadvantage this has is that, when sticking in a new diaper, you will have the container open for a split second and may catch a tiny whiff of the bag. That's gone in a second, and when it's closed it doesn't let any smells out. This thing has really simplified my life and I wish I'd gotten one of these first.
