When I was in elementary school, a glass baking dish burst in the oven. Since then, she only uses CorningWare and Pyrex. I didn’t own any glass baking dishes or casserole dishes. This is my first set. I couldn’t have gotten pieces at a thrift store for less than the $38 I paid for these. Living in a tiny apartment, I didn’t have room for a bigger set. This is all I really need to serve a holiday dinner, with two casserole sides. I really like the creamy white color and the ribbed texture. Easy to handle, looks good, will work with any china. The weight and size are just right. They go from oven, to table to fridge to freezer, so perfect for storage. I’m so pleased with this set and my Mom’s experience with CorningWare speaks for itself. Extra glass lids available, too, just in case. Love that!

I don't see a problem with the fitment of the glass lids, if you want to seal up leftovers, you can use the plastic lids that it comes with. Heeding Corning Ware's requirements, these should last quite a while.
