What does that actually mean? What is its fire resistance rated at?** A: Part 4 is part of the British Standard/ISO related to thermal properties on the material. I cannot answer the fire resistance question. **Q: Would this be ok to put in my aviary to keep it warm in the winter** A: It might be safe only if the birds do not have to come into contact with it as their toes might become entangled in the webbing of the material. **Q: How do you cut this? I’ve tried kitchen scissors, Stanley knife and and a saw for insulation. None of them are very effective** A: I used a combination of Stanley knife and scissors, but it was difficult! Always cut a little longer and you will get a tight fit. **Q: What surface in square metres does 1 pack cover, please?** A: Sorry for the delay but just back from holiday. I used the stuff at my daughter's house which is some distance away so it's difficult to be precise. I assumed the coverage would be as advertised ( 8m X 370mm which equates to almost 3 sq. metres per roll) and calculated what I needed from that; it worked well. I laid it on a boarded out flat floor, double thickness with the joints across on one layer and length ways on the next. The difference in temperature in the room is noticeable apparently. I used these narrow rolls to get through the trap door easily.
