He was having difficulty standing. I was worried 3" lifts would be too high but in the end I was glad I bought these instead of the 2" ones. They are extremely solid and feel secure under the heavy chair. They made a big difference and he can now get up without help and sit down without dropping into the seat. The little rubber feet on the bottom were terrible -- they pop right off when I bumped into the chair, but they didn't affect the stability.
