I ordered it for my husband to wear as the Mad Hatter because my family was doing a family theme of the Alice in Wonderland characters for Halloween. I ordered up one size for him, and it was a bit too snug for his broad shoulders. It was only snug in the shoulders, though, and did fit everywhere else. I ordered the absolute largest size (he normally wears an XL in shirts), and he liked the shoulders in the biggest size better. If your guy doesn’t have broad shoulders, he can probably order true to size. My husband is shaped like an inverted triangle from years of martial arts training, so he’s got very large shoulders and arms and not as big of a mid-section. The pattern on the coat is exquisite, and the make is surprisingly good. I wasn’t expecting such high quality from the coat, to be honest, but it’s really well made. My husband loved it immediately. I got the dark green one, so it can be used for Christmas and Saint Patrick’s Day as well. I do highly recommend it for whatever you might be looking at it for. It has a built-in waistcoat, so all you need is a collared shirt underneath, and pants, of course. Unless you don’t want to wear pants, and that’s your prerogative, though I do highly recommend pants.
