The stand should be fastened to a stud or a ledger board fastened to a stud. I would not hang the Epiphone on this stand or any stand if the fasteners were screwed into nothing but drywall. **Q: Can the mounting plate be rotated so that the single hole is at the top? That would make it more stud-friendly from an engineering standpoint.** A: I don't believe you can place the single hole at the top. The left and right arms are in the down position, then close when they sense the weight of the guitars.
