As an aviator, this story confirms things about our aviation regulator that I always thought was true. Read between the lines, industry promotion over flying and public safety is the FAA mandate. Where the deregulated airline industry is concerned, self regulation equals no regulation.

Good story, but keep in mind this is a non-fiction narrative of Dave Soucie's experiences. Including an eye opening look at the FAA. If you're just interested in true evaluations of many different aircraft disasters, get "Air Crashes and Miracle Landings" by Christopher Bartlett.
