**Q: Cap does not open when switch is pushed.  Is there some secret to get this product to work?**
A: Sounds like you have one with a bad cover spring

**Q: Have been using it for about 10 days.. recently only 1 torch lights, and continuing to remain lit longer, after releasing valve.**
A: Broken probably. Try blowing hard on the flame “nozzle”. Sometimes that works if it’s clogged.

**Q: I have very weak fingers. Is the button easy to push?**
A: Easy to push, am broke old man and I can do it. Not the best in wind, but it will go in 20 knots if you use your body to block. Don’t drop the bottom will come off.

**Q: Is the lid spring loaded, and does it pop open automatically when you depress the igniter?**
A: Yes! But press in slow motion so when lid pops flame will come out! If you do it fast you’ll have to press twice

I purchased these over a year ago, in September 2020. I've been using one lighter about 98% of the time for non-tobacco products on a daily basis, so I'd guesstimate that it's gone through around 4000 lighting cycles in that time. The lighter has a spring-loaded cap, and the spring failed about a month ago. (A thumbnail under the cap opens it easily.) Other than that, the lighter still works like a champ. I sometimes have to flick the lighter several times to get a flame, but opening the valve avoids that problem when it happens. This also is not wind-proof, just wind-resistant: turn your body to block a direct wind or use the cap as a smaller wind-block, and you'll be fine. It also looks really good. One of my sons was visiting from out of town shortly after I received these. I spotted him eyeing the lighter lying on the counter, and I could read his mind: "How much money did Dad just blow on this lighter?" Me: "Nice lighter, huh?" Him (hesitantly): "Yeah." Me: "$13.99. For two of them." Him: Laughing (because I'd read his mind). I always use a premium refined butane. In my experience, the lighter refills best not using any adapter at all on the refill can: the metal nozzle pairs well with the lighter's refilling stem. Also, to maximize the amount of butane you can load, turn the lighter upside down and press its stem to release any air before filling. A paperclip or small allen wrench work well. Would I purchase these as a gift? Nah, they're too cheap. But, you shouldn't go wrong for your own use.
