Review: Beautiful and worth buying - This Barbie is beautiful. The detail on the face and the dress is outstanding. It was worth the price and what they advertise is what you get. I also love the box that it comes in.
Review: A must-have for anyone who loves Day of the Dead theme and/or celebrates the holiday! - My first Barbie purchase for 2019. The doll was shipped from desertcart in the original shipper from Mattel. The doll's box arrived in great condition. The artwork on the box is beautiful. The doll is Black Label based on Mattel's labeling system. I paid retail price for this doll, and I would recommend to wait for Mattel to restock this doll and pay $75 or less. The doll's dress is embroidered, but the part of the dress that flares out is printed (not embroidered). The doll does come with a stand. The base of the stand is hollow, but still supports the weight of the doll. I love how colorful this doll is. If you love the Day of the Dead theme and/or celebrate the holiday, I encourage you to buy this doll. She’s a wonderful addition. Different than the typical fashion doll, but very appropriate and a beautiful tribute as the “Día de Muertos” Barbie. The Barbie Designer, Javier Meabe, did an amazing job! On my particular doll, I did undo the braids and changed her hairstyle as seen in the photo I have shared.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: This is a $75 doll, has it been released at the normal retail price here on Amazon yet?**
A: This was on the Mattel site for $75 on the 12th at midnight. But once you registered there for free, you could buy the doll for $60 with free shipping. That's how I bought mine. Within that one day, it was sold out. Now you can be notified if you request it, when the doll is available again.

**Q: Yes, what happened!!! It was supposed to be $75.00; and now, almost $200?..**
A: The doll went on sale here at Amazon before the 12th. HOWEVER, the only way on earth you could have found it was to know the Amazon internal inventory tracking number (ASIN) for it. No other search strings would work. Tell me, who other than Amazon employees, friends & family would know an internal inventory tracking number for an item that can't otherwise be found?

The same kind of shifty business went on over at Walmart. Again, searching for the doll by name on Walmart.com pulled up NOTHING. The only way to access the doll was to already know the URL for it. Who would know the unpublished URL for a doll that didn't come up in a product search? Yup, Walmart employees, friends & family in the know. Sadly, the poor chumps working the stores didn't get the memo.

On the Mattel site, the "add to cart" was never activated. Though, I did see that for varying membership prices, you could receive first dibs on purchasing newly released dolls.

This was all a big "F You" by Mattel to the general public. If you want access to purchase these dolls, I guess you need to buy their membership so you can buy the dolls in bulk and sell them for a fortune on Ebay. It really sours me on the Barbie brand and takes 100% of the joy out of the whole experience.

Yes, I am one of the ppl who, starting at 11pm EST 9/11 until 10am EST 9/12 had 4 browsers open and continuously refreshing the doll's name and every alternate name hoping it might appear. The doll never once appeared.

Kudos to Target for having integrity and putting their customers first instead of allowing Mattel to play head games with them.

** Hey Amazon, I call huge BS on your "Management Guidelines." You didn't put the customer first, you played favorites and showed millions of ppl that they aren't special enough.

**Q: Why is this doll being charged double the price? It is supposed to be $75.**
A: Because some people like this seller bought up all the available stock on day one when it came up for sale, so it could then turn around and sell it as a third party seller at double the original price or higher. It is a repugnant practice, but sadly it happens with all kinds of collectible items.

**Q: Is Amazon ever going to sell this doll for the $75. they advertised & also said it would be available as of 9/12????**
A: I was able to order it through Amazon on 9/11 for $75 as a pre-order. It’s supposed to arrive on Sunday.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely stunning
*by L***. on June 23, 2020*

I have been wanting this doll since it came out. However it sold out quickly and people began selling it for over $200 for something that was only $75 originally. Hubby trued to buy it for me around Christmas time though the price was too much. Never got it but that vendor took our money. Amazon was awesome and refunded the money. I was looking on Amazon for no reason in particular and wouldn't you know it this doll pops up for uner $70 (shipping was over $20 though)! Hubby said get it now lol. Not only was this a great price it came on time! Was a little worried about it possibly being a fake....but was happy to be proved wrong. This is just as pictured and so beautiful. Im not a doll collector but this one just spoke to me. I couldn't be happier. This vendor took such care in the packaging. I was highly impressed. Very much recommended.
