Review: works great, just as advertised - For reference I have a Stack-On fire proof safe with the carpeted panels inside. I attached this to the inside of my gun safe door with the adhesive and the nails so it holds fine. One of negative reviews said they just used the adhesive. If the inside of your safe is carpeted of course that won't hold. I put an AR15 magazine loaded with 6.8 on it and it held fine. I also know that it says all over the packaging to only use it with empty magazines so I was happy that it held a loaded mag but I wasn't expecting it. It would be nice if the magnet was a little stronger but so far it holds everything great. It holds my steel AR15, XDs, P220, P225 magazines. It doesn't hold my Pmags, XD, or Glock magazines because they don't have enough or any steel. **A word of warning XD mags are stainless steel but they won't hold because not all stainless steel is magnetic. If you aren't sure test it first with a fridge magnet. If you want to know more google "stainless steel magnetic"**

## Questions & Answers

**Q: does the magazine mount on metal by magnetism, or does it use some type of double back tape?**
A: Mounted mine on side of steel gun cabinet adhered my magnetism inside slide out drawer.  Have five magazines secured at this moment.Bersa 9mm 2 loaded 10 round magazine and one unloaded plus 2 unloaded 10 round magazines for CZ 75 clone.

**Q: Will it hold a full magazine of say 18 9mm's?**
A: I can hold either a 13 round 9mm for my XD SC9 or the 13 round .45 for my XDM, but I have bumped them at times and knocked them off. So it may hold them, but that is a lot of weight per mag.

**Q: Will this hold a loaded polymer rifle mag due to the metal in the rounds?**
A: NO, this will ONLY hold metal magazines regardless of the type of ammo. Depending on the size of the magazine, this magnetic strip is NOT strong enough to hold a 15 round loaded magazine. Empty would be fine but NOT loaded.

**Q: My safe door is steel. Will this hold by magnetism?**
A: The back of this magnetic strip is paper which you can peel off and reveal the sticky back and I guess press it to the steel door and it should stick.  What I did was peel off the paper backing and use velcro to attach it to the inside of my safe.  I used two long strips of velcro the length of the magnet on near the top edge and one near the bottom edge.  It stays to the safe wall well and the clips stay on even my 18 round clips.  As long as the clips rest high enough up so as the base or foot of the clip can catch onto the edge of the magnetic strip.  Over all I an happy with these magnetic strips and now I have a place to put my clips in the safe for easy access.

I found this magnet works and will hold even loaded mags. However, the grip is not reassuringly strong so I tried a different approach that I would recommend to fellow large safe owners. I bought a 22" magnetic knife holder. I bought Ouddy brand, but I believe any good one will work and you can find almost any length to fit your needs. The knife holder magnet strength is far superior. Only slight issue was attaching, but I could drill screws into my door board. So, overall, I don't want to say this is a poor product because it does work and it will stay in my safe, but there's a better answer out there.
