It works and as far as I can tell it's more or less permanent. In fact, those hinges act like they have been greased! I got tired of using WD-40 or 3in1 oil and have the squeak return in a few months. Spray hinge, especially any cracks or opening then immediately work door back and forth to try and get more penetration before the solvent dries which is almost instantly. Do one hinge at a time this way for best results. This stuff is great. I'm sure it's useful for many other things.
