I bought this as a present for my partner and he makes sure that he always uses a cotton cloth(s) to prevent any part of his nitro-cellulose finished guitars from touching the stand as he doesn't want to risk damaging the lacquer. Having said that, he is very pleased with the stand and is thinking of getting another. It is stable whether there are 1,2 or 3 guitars on it and it certainly takes up less floor space than 3 individual stands. **Q: what are dimensions when open?** A: The Height is roughly 110cm the distance between each of its three feet is 60cm. If you draw a triangle with 3 equal sides each measuring 60cm the point of each triangle would be the position of each foot when it’s open. Easily fits 2 electric and 1 acoustic guitar. I was worried about the sturdyness of the stand as i have had stands before that were pretty bad... This stand has me sleeping like a baby. These guitars are not going anywhere with the rugged stand and the auto lock neck. Just pick up and play, then place back.
