It is all contained within a large flower bed about 45 ft from the end of our pool. It provided really good coverage, but I recently added a second subwoofer and two 4 inch Dayton audio speakers to the other end of the pool. The base is really stunning. You can’t switch from powered to passive. There is no built in amplifier. That’s all a lie! Now, with that out of the way, let’s get to the sub. It is immaculately made. Clean, beautiful lines and grooves add a certain panache to this down-firing sub. It’s only 12“ tall and connects to your amp via a pair of sheathed wires. The bass is smooth, deep, mellow a perfect companion to the Polk Atriums on the deck. There are two mounting holes to screw the sub onto the deck and, in addition, there’s a built- in eyebolt to which you can attach a cable or lock. An excellent sub that delivers the bass at a decent price. There was no need to lie and add features it doesn’t have.
